Sports Internship combines coaching in a variety of sports aimed to gain valuable work experience in host Schools and colleges. The experience which the internees would gain on this project will be an excellent entry into their CV, making them stand out in the crowd of job seekers. The minimum duration of the Sports Internship is 4 - 12 months. Internee will be provided with Free accommodation and Food. Interns will be honored with International Credit Certificate after successful completion of their internship.

Foot Ball
Football was introduced in India during the British occupation and in some areas of the country it is equally as popular as Cricket. India was an Asian powerhouse in the 1960s, finishing as runners up in the 1964 AFC Asian Cup, but gradually the standard of Football has gone down compared to other countries and India currently ranked 144 in the FIFA rankings as of 20 August 2010. Foot ball is a widely accepted sport in schools and colleges.
Cricket
Cricket is the most popular sport in India and a passion for school children.The British brought cricket to India in the early 1700s, with the first cricket match played in 1721. In 1848, the Parsi community in Bombay formed the Oriental Cricket Club, the first cricket club to be established by Indians. A.E.R Gilligan\92s MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) toured India in 1926 and took on Bombay in a match that proved to be a turning point in the history of Indian cricket. As C. K Naidu smashed 153, for the Hindus, India began dreaming big. It eventually led to the formation of BCCI in 1928. The Indian cricket team is currently ranked first (as of 5 December 2010) by the ICC in Tests and First (as of April,2011) in ODIs.
The Indian living legendary cricketer Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. He is the leading run-scorer and century maker in Test and one-day international cricket. He is the only male player to score a double century in the history of ODI cricket. Tendulkar is the first and the only player in Test Cricket history to score fifty centuries and more than 140000 runs. He was also the first player to score 10,000 runs in one-day internationals with 49 centuries (2011)
Hockey
Field Hockey is the official national sport in India. Until the mid 20th century, India dominated international Hockey, winning 8 Olympic gold medals, the World Cup in 1975 and were runners-up in the 1973 World Cup. The Indian player Dhyan Chand, the most famous Indian hockey player, was described as a 'wizard' by the European press. However, India's recent performance have been below par and India is currently ranked 9th in the world. Field Hockey is a enchanting sport in schools and colleges.
Volleyball
Volleyball is a popular sport played all over India, both in rural as well as urban India. It is a popular recreation Sport. It is played in almost every schools and colleges. India is ranked 5th in Asia and 27th in the world. India came in second in the 2003 World youth championships. Indian senior men's team is currently ranked 46th in the world.
Basket Ball
The game of basketball started its journey in India during the first half of the twentieth century and is considered as one of the widely played sports in India. Basketball is a popular Sport in India and is played in almost every schools and colleges .The younger generation in India is very much fond of playing this game. India has both men's and women's national teams in Basketball. It also made one Olympic appearance in Basketball and appeared 20 times in the Asian Championship. India is currently ranked 41st in the world in Basketball.
Tennis
The game of tennis was brought to India by the British Army and civilian officers. Tennis is a popular Sport among Indians in urban areas. However, India's fortunes in the Grand Slams singles have been unimpressive although Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi have won many Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles Grand Slam Titles. Sania Mirza is the only notable Indian woman Tennis player, having won a WTA title and breaking in to the Top 30 WTA rankings.
Badminton
The modern version of badminton has its roots well laid in India. British Army officers posted in Pune, India, gave badminton its present form in the 19th century and played it competitively. As the city of Pune was formerly known as Poona, the game was also became known as Poona at that time. Poona was developed from the children's game, battledore and shuttlecock. Once the British mastered the game in India, they took the equipments with them back to England during the 1870s. Three years later, in 1873, the Duke of Beaufort hosted a lawn party in his country place called Badminton. The game of Poona was played on that day and became a popular and entertaining pastime among the British elites. It was thence that the game received its present name, Badminton and came to be known as party sport or more popularly, "the Badminton game". Badminton is played as a recreational sport in India. Regional, national, School and college level tournaments are periodically conducted to unravel new talent.
Chess
The sport of chess in India is sky rocketing with a bevy of youngsters making it big at the international stage. India is fast emerging as a chess powerhouse, thanks to the growing number of International Grandmasters. With an increase in the number of young kids taking to the game, the domestic tournaments have witnessed a healthy competition and a considerable improvement in the overall standard of the game. The origin of chess can be traced back to the 6th century in India. During that time, the game was known as 'Chaturanga' and consisted of two essential features, which was later found in all chess variations - different pieces having different powers and victory in the game depended on the fate of one piece - the king of modern chess. The word 'Chaturanga' stands for 'army' - (the four parts are elephants, chariots, horsemen, foot soldiers). It is believed that the name essentially came from a battle formation mentioned, in the Indian epic - Mahabharata. The game of Chaturanga basically portrays the Indian military strategy of the past era.Indian player Viswanathan Anand is the epitome of chess in India and has gained worldwide recognition. In 1987, Viswanathan Anand won the World Junior Chess Championship, which made him the first Indian to reach the height and in 1988 he became the first Grandmaster of India.
